Bangkok in Thailand – Reflections of a City in Constant Change

Bangkok is a city where old and new architecture often exist within just a few metres of each other. In this photograph, modern glass façades dominate the scene, reflecting neighbouring buildings, trees and the warm light of the late afternoon. Beneath them, older low-rise structures remain part of the same urban landscape.

What immediately caught my attention was the large mirrored building in the centre. Its irregular glass surfaces break up the surrounding architecture and create a series of constantly changing reflections. The warm tones of the building opposite contrast beautifully with the cool blue and green reflections in the glass.

I also like the lower part of the frame, where the scale changes completely. Small rooftops, restaurants, narrow passages and older buildings sit beneath the much larger contemporary structures. This gives the photograph more than just an architectural quality — it becomes a visual record of Bangkok's urban transformation.

As a travel photographer, these are the details I often look for when walking through Bangkok. The famous skyline is only one part of the city. Sometimes the most interesting photographs are found between the skyscrapers, where reflections reveal several different layers of Bangkok in a single frame.
