A Peace Sign at the Market – Everyday Life at Photisarn Market in Pattaya

At Photisarn Market in Pattaya, a brief and completely spontaneous gesture turns an everyday market scene into a personal encounter. A young vendor looks toward my camera and raises two fingers in a relaxed peace sign, while beside her another woman continues preparing food. It is a small moment, but one that immediately gives the photograph its character.

I like the way the image remains firmly rooted in the market environment. The plates, food, plastic containers, fans, cooking equipment and surrounding vendors are all part of the story. Nothing has been arranged; I simply reacted to what was happening in front of me and captured the interaction as it unfolded.

The warm market lighting brings out the colours and textures of the scene, while the foreground vendor becomes the natural focal point. Her gesture adds a playful human element, contrasting with the concentration of the people working around her.

This is the side of Pattaya street photography that interests me most.
